Learning How To Skateboard for Beginners – Advice

Jan 4th, 2010

Skateboarding is a blast, I know that once you learn how to skateboard beginners or not, you can have a blast too.  My first words of advice would be to take things a little bit slow.  Don’t try to do the tricks your friends are doing before you learn how to use your board.

-1.  Know your balance. Learning how to skateboard for beginners begins with this step.  Stand on your skateboard, lean back and forth, bring the nose up and hold it there.  Get a feel for your skateboard and see what it wants to do.  Understanding the balance between you and your board decide whether or not your board does what you want it to do.

-2.  Feel your wheels.  When you’re on your board, try pushing around a little bit, nice and slow.  See what your board feels like when it’s moving.  Get a feel for how well your board keeps its momentum, do you keep speed for a while or do you slow down fast.  Bearings are what controls this part.

-3.   Get some air!  Learning how to ollie on a skateboard for beginners is your starting point for doing some tricks.  Before you try to learn how to 360 flip, how to 360 ollie, learn how to ollie.  Start in place, get your tail off the ground just a little bit.   One of my best skateboard tips for this is to start in one spot, then slowly try to ollie while your moving.  Starting off slow of coarse.  Now downhill!

-4.  Start Showing Off!

This is a great place to learn how to skateboard beginners learn the right way! Skate like a pro!
